The Great Gary Gygax!

One of my students recently asked what my favorite sport is. “Dungeons and Dragons”, I told him, and everyone giggled. I was thinking of the passing of E. Gary Gygax, one of the creators of that game that I learned to play when I was twelve and around which formed one of a core group of associates during my adolescence: John, Russell, Chris, Jimmy, and Eric.
Ooops, I did it again!

So, in an effort to (ostensibly) make things easier on myself, I decided to change the functionality, and, incidentally, the look of my website. RobGirard.net is now the primary domain of the Rob Girard Network under which three subdomains now exist: Mr. Girard Online, Rob’s Blog, and the Team AZ Travel Journal.
Rob’s Blog will represent my personal ethos. Here I’ll keep friends and family informed of our goings-on, such as the progress of our adoption proceedings, and I’ll offer my own superior brand of analysis of and commentary about the affairs of the world and more.
Mr. Girard Online will represent my professional ethos, and will enchance and supplement my English language, literature, and composition instruction. Students will use Mr. Girard Online to stay abreast of class goings-on, find task and lesson information, check grades, and more. Parents can use the site to make sure their kids are on track.
The Team AZ Travel Journal will contain information and updates for students who’ll travel with me during the summer months. On tour, travelers may have the occasional opportunity to write about their experiences by authoring their own entries on the blog which will give parents and friends the opportunity to check our progress (internet cafes are everywhere).
All of the features, galleries, and informative resources that students and colleagues have come to expect from RobGirard.net will once again appear on these sites. It’ll take a bit for me to get everything to where it belongs on various pages, but hopefully these sites will streamline the experience of those looking for the right information they need in the future. And this will be a chance for me to learn the rudiments of CSS, so expect to see modifications to the appearance and functionality of Rob’s Blog, Mr. Girard Online, and the Team AZ Travel Journal as they evolve.
Score it!
