Renaissance Festival

As we’ve successfully made a November visit to the Pima Air and Space Museum Debabu’s birthday tradition, so we tried to make a visit to Old Tucson Zufaney’s last year. It was fun, but we decided to do the Arizona Renaissance Festival again this year for our baby’s birthday. Debabu, Zufan, and their friend Lariella met a fairy when we arrived.

Then they met the Green Man.

Then they rode the Swan Swing with Mommy and Lariella and Alariah and their Dad, my buddy Dov.

Then they rode the Butterfly Carousel.

Then we ate authentic Renaissance food: deep-fried chicken strips and shrimp and fries and onion rings. Delicious!

Then we stopped for a photo on a bridge.

And posed with feather.

Dov and his baby girl, Alariah.

Mommy and her tired birthday girl in a shot reminiscent of their first meeting a little over two years ago in Addis Ababa.

Sir Alexander walks his horse before the joust.

No real action shots of the joust itself; still working on my photography reflexes.

Debabu was fascinated by Barely Balanced, an acrobatic and pyrothechnic troupe that posed for a shot with the birthday girl and her brother after the show.

After the knights’ fight to the death, the last big show of the day, Daddy got his grub on with a steak-on-a-stick.

On our way home.
