Haircut at Buddha’s

Although I like Debabu’s hair with a little body, fro-ed out about an inch because it makes him look super fly, Rebecca prefers it short (his scalp tends to dry out). So we went to Buddha’s (formerly Buddha and Joe’s, formerly AAAardvark), the barber shop I’ve been going to for years. Isaac takes care of Debabu well and always leaves him looking sharp.

The Grill

Friday night’s usually date-night for me and my bride, and after seeing the funny-but-vile Bruno last night, we went to The Grill downtown for another of my favorites: a bacon, white-cheddar burger, cooked medium-rare (the onion bun, on which I dab a bit of mustard and mayo, soaks up most of the blood), with deep-fried tater tots and creamy pesto for dipping, and an RC Cola. Baby.

Seasons Change

Swimming last summer Debabu would barely touch the water without one of us holding him and Zufan, although she loved every drop of it, couldn’t hold herself up very well. Seasons change as we saw in the community pool Grandma shares with the residents of the townhouses she lives among now.

At Home

After a long school year and my recent taxing tour and readjusting to Tucson and catching up with my responsibilities, it was nice to relax in the morning with my kids. Zufaney was getting far too big to still be in her high chair, so we found a bigger table we could all sit comfortably at. Here she’s enjoying her second meal, macaroni and cheese, in her big-girl chair at the table with her brother.

Trash

The Girard family was out running errands and we decided to stop for lunch. I was ready to enjoy one of my favorites, a Big Mac meal from (Supersized with extra pickles and an Orange Hi-C), but this is what we were met with at the Mickey D’s across from the University on Speedway. If I could, I’d install this in a museum and call it modern art. We wound up going across the street to Wendy’s.
