We spent yesterday’s second shift at the Pima County Fair, and we enjoyed a different experience this year as parents. We spent most of the afternoon looking at the exhibits and playing with the animals, and then we headed to food and the fairway in the evening. Before we left my brave son accompanied his Mommy on the big Ferris wheel, while I stayed firmly on the ground with my baby girl.
Easter at Govinda’s

Grateful to the Lord this Easter Sunday (but frustrated that we’ve still not found a church that feeds our minds rather than merely stimulates our emotions), we enjoyed a meal at Govinda’s Natural Foods Buffet, probably not a place one would expect to find believers on a day like today. But Zufaney and Debabu got to eat with Grandpa Stan, who himself got to try tofu sausage and vegetables au gratin.

The institution where I teach, Canyon del Oro High School, hosted its second annual showcase of fine arts, which included performances by our orchestras, bands, choir, dancers, and actors, and highlighted students’ paint, plastics, and photography productions. I finally was able to experience my excellent students Michael, Addie, and Elise perform, and I was able to see others of my students’ artifacts. Of course, Zufan and Debabu were a hit, as they always, inevitably are.

A couple of Sundays ago, we decided to make the best use of the breeze and headed to Himmel Park. We enjoyed our Eegee’s and Debabu and Zufan dug the beats of a drum circle making noise nearby our knoll. Next time, bigger kite and more string.

Rebecca decided, poignantly, it was time for Zufaney’s first haircut. She took her to Julia’s Multicultural Beauty where Tava complimented Rebecca on keeping Zufan’s hair so well and who administered the first touch-up of our baby’s hair.
