We’re Going to Ethiopia!
December 28, 2007 | Filed Under Adoption, Family
We just got word that we’re scheduled for an embassy appointment in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Monday, January 21. That means in about three weeks Rebecca and I will be the proud Mom and Dad of the two children above, Zufan and her brother, Debabu. We’ll be leaving on January 17 and return shortly after with the new additions to our family.

The above image was taken only a few days after Debabu and Zufan arrived at the orphanage, but another family, working with same agency coordinating our adoption, recently traveled to meet and bring home their adopted child, and they were kind enough to take some video of Debabu and Zufan, from which Rebecca was able to capture some newer images a couple of which I’ve included here.

This process has taken just about a year and a half, with Rebecca being the determined, unstoppable force behind the paper- and footwork, but, even though the adoption is almost complete, we’re only just starting this awesome family journey. We’re very blessed to be gifted the opportunity to love and raise up such a beautiful boy and girl to love and raise as our own.
God is good. Unimaginably good.
